Term 2 Week 8

This week we had our last two sessions of tech arts for music. They were my favourite two, and we had to make up a dance with cannons, freeze frames, unison etc. I choreographyed almost all of the song and dance moves it was really cool. This week we also had to hand in our science fair projects and mine was about grass decomposition. I put grass clippings into polythene bags to try to produce some methane gas but sadly
I could not produce any methane, and I later found out that it can take weeks to produce methane gas so yeah, atleast I got something done. See you next week for more info.

Term 1 Week 6

This week we had I had one tech art session because on Friday I was at the tough guy and gal challenge. In tech arts we had to do this stick throwing game. Where we have to make sounds with our sticks to go along with the song. It was cool and fun, I found it pretty easy but lots of other people found it hard because it involved lots of hand eye co-ordination. I also had tough guy and gal challenge and it was pretty cool except for when we had to crawl through this really small tunnel full of cow crap and mud. We got really dirty but all in all it was pretty cool. See you next week for more cool news.

Term 2 Week 5

This week we only had one tech art session, it was music. We did some more work on guitar keyboard and drums. On the drums we worked on rythms and small patterns. On the keyboard we worked on a couple of songs, and on the guitar we worked on a little piece that the music teacher composed for us. I also had the   duathlon last Wednesday and we came 5th so we didn't do too bad. It was really hard work biking I would recommend doing the running if you ever have the option. Term 2 Week 3

This week we had music for tech arts and we learnt some tunes for the keyboard and some for the guitar as well. we learnt this cool as song on the guitar and we play it quite well as a class. We also learnt a Irish jig on the keyboard. We were learning about Irish music on Friday and we learnt about the tango and dances like that on the Tuesday. We also had Friday sport and I did jtgtg challenge and we did lots of fitness training I also am entering a team of me and Hayden into the duathlon (biking ,and running) so it was a pretty exciting week for me. Term 2 Week 2

This week we have done lots of exciting things like lacrosse. Lacrosse is really fun and my class had a great tome learning a new sport. If you've never tried it then you should give it a try because it is lots of fun. At lacrosse they taught us how to pass catch and throw the ball correctly using different components of the stick. I usually learn things fast and have mainly natural talent for sport so I caught on straight away. I am hoping to play in the Intermediate competitions later on in term four. Lacrosse, however one of the my highlights for the week, we also had our last sessions in tech arts. For tech arts we had science but our last session finished on Friday when we made sherbert bath bombs and did our summary test. Inter class sport has also started up and we have had two games of volleyball and one of dodgeball. We lost our dodgeball, but managed to win both of our volleyball games by a considerate distance. Term 2 Week 1

This week we were told about science fair, and I have an Idea for what to do. I have a hypothesis for doing soil erosion, and how it works. I live on a farm so Mrs Tyson thinks that would be a good project for me. This week we had Mike King come in and talk about his life. He talked about about depression and anxiety and what he went through. He was lonely and isolated as a kid and took on drugs and alcohol at a young age. It was quite an out there story, and it must have took guts to say all the stuff about himself the way he did and laugh about and also make it funny and entertaining. Despite that it did make you think about what some people might be going through and it is quite a surprisingly sad factor. Overall we had a great introduction back to term and it was a fun and exciting week.

Term 1 Week 10

This week we did lots of fun and exciting things like tech arts. For this block of tech arts we have science, and the extension science incubated and hatched four cute little chicks named, Joey; (the oldest, and the biggest,) Charlie; (the second oldest, and the second biggest,) Evan; (the smallest, and the second to youngest,) and my favourite one, Patty; (the second smallest, and the youngest. It is very exciting as I am part of the extension science and am loving to care for the baby chicks. In tech art science I made a cupcake made out of soap, and some slimy bouncy stuff which is really cool to play with. There has also been a lot of soccer practices for me as I am in the WIMMS soccer team. We had a practice on Wednesday, and Friday, our team is developing well and, working a lot better together. So overall I think I had a great week, and I can't wait for the next one when we are off to camp!!!!

Term 1 Week 8 & 9

In about week eight the WIMMS soccer team was finally announced, and I made it! The coaches had a hard time picking the boys team but the girls team was the polar opposite. As none of the girls had to even trial because they were two girls short from the start. This week we also had summer games and I participated in padder tennis with Cheng yu and so far as I know we got the highest team score of the day! Team scores work like this: 6 points for a win 4 for draw and 2 for loss. We won all our four games and got all four of the available conduct points. giving us a great score for our house, Mangapiko! The past two weeks have been lots of fun but I cant wait for the week after next when we have camp! See you next time to tell you all about it.

Term 1 Week 7

On Tuesday, our last session of hard materials had come! (it's not that I don't like hard materials, I love it). It's just that in the last session we got to finish our speaker boxes! Mine was so cool! it is painted black and works great. I listen to the music it plays a lot, and it is pretty good quality. Also, this week we had more soccer trials, and I think I did alright all though I could have performed a lot better. Our class is doing pretty well in softball except for a couple of games, we have won three lost one, and drew one. Overall this week has been pretty cool. See you next time (-:

Term 1 Week 6

In week 6 we did lots of exciting things, some of the main things we did were finding out who the head students were. For the boys it was Mathew Yarndley, and Cheng-yu Dong, and for the girls it was Raiha Mathews-Ngauma, and Amy Kerr. We also had lots to do in Tech Arts. The year eights in our class, (room three), have hard materials right now for Tech, and we are working on our speakers. We got loads done throughout our time zones of Tuesday, and Friday. I cant wait to finish it on Monday! I also had extension science, and we did some work on life cycles, because for one of our science projects we are incubating chicken fetus' so they will all hopefully hatch out fine with all their limbs intact. Term 1 Week 5

In week five on Wednesday, we had our last session in Japanese )-:. It was our last session because our Japanese teacher had to leave to go teach English in Japan........ the irony there. Her name was Mika Tobe and she was a great teacher who made her lessons fun and exciting. The Japanese students are going to miss her lots and we wish here a good time in Japan. On Friday we had swimming sports and Mangapiko got rekked . We came fourth and were over 100 points behind the third place getter, but we tried our best. 

Term 1 Week 3

In our third week of school the House Captains for 2016 were chosen, and I received House Captain for 2016. During that day I probably shouldn't have been at school because I was feeling sick. I had, like a carsick feeling in my throat, a sore stomach, and a headache. Before assembly our class went out for swimming and I was really cold so I put my jersey on for singing assembly. At assembly I was, (along with other house captains/deputy house captains), awarded the position. I had been on the stage for a couple of minutes while Mr Denize was talking when the heat rushed to my head and I fainted. In front of the whole school! Just like that! One minute I was standing there, the next I was lying on the floor with a sore lip and lots of teachers talking to me. I don't know how long I was out and still cant really believe that it really happened. So that's about everything interesting that happened to me in week three. See you next week

term 1 review

This year we have done lots of exciting stuff such as minor games, lots of Physical Education, and swimming leading up to swimming sport. This has been a pretty exciting term so far. My first tech arts is wood and we have started on our speaker already, its really fun. I cant wait to see what happens in the rest of the term.

The New Year

OMG!! A new year has begun I'm so excited!! And this year I am a year 8!! Room three is full of excitement with a bunch of new kids joining it. So far this term we have been swimming 2 times because Swim Sports is coming up, and Mrs Crowe has to determine who the good swimmers are. We have our first Tech Arts today and the year 8s have hard material, which I am really excited about. Overall I think this year is starting off great.
